I have a Reynolds Contempora trumpet with the original case and sales receipt from Jan. 1970. It's in very good condition. Do you have an idea of what the value may be?

Hi Christine: Thanks for your valuable work on the Conn band instruments site! I work on Conn french horns everyday and sometimes I need to confirm a detail or date. Your page just provided me some helpful info!

I have a 1948 "Roth" Ohio Band Company Brand coronet. The serial # is 49XXX. This is a silver dipped, straight trumpet-style tubing model brass horn with the brass showing in the inside of the bell. Your serial number list shows that this era horns were: "#45000 1948 Roth “Tone Tempered” produced with nickel-silver bell flare; SNs 45xxx-53xxx (with exception of silver CLARINET(?), which was produced well into the 1950s)."
Does my silver coronet follow the same serial number list given for the "Tone-Tempered?
Is my horn an Emporer Model?

My son bought the '39 Reynolds cornet #32XX mentioned in earlier posts. We've had it professionally restored to manufacture status... silver bell, nickle silver valves & lead pipe... the interesting and odd thing about it is: we were told by the professional restorer that Elkhart had been consulted and it was determined the bell is nickel silver and the horn is all original.
I sent photos of the cornet last week but I'd like to know your opinion... this would be at least and oddity and at best a rarity... could it be???

I have a flute given to me as a gift many years ago. I have had it in storage for quite sometime and have recently been studying it. Where it was made etc. I don't have much use for it because I am a string player. It says F.A. Reynolds Co. on it. Cleveland Ohio with a serial no. 21908. It needs some work but generally in fair to good condition. I wonder if the material it is made from is silver or plate or some other material.

I have a very good F.A. Reynolds tenor trombone, serial number 21949. From what I see on your imformation, this puts it in your Contempora Model class. Is there any value in this oild instrument. I would like to sell it. Any help along this line would be appreciated. Many Thanks. George

Exactly like the #1019 from what I can see... to have it restored to "manufacturer equivalency" will cost $300. Is that a reasonable investment for a piece that will be played and appreciated for several years?
